About Sandy

Artist, Sandy Ziehmer, lives in Richmond, Michigan with her
husband Rick and two children, Ricky and Ryan. One night in
1999, she and Ryan turned on the television. The channel
surfing stopped on QVC. There Sandy saw artist Donna
Dewberry painting a beautiful rose and she was hooked!
After several painting lessons, Sandy decided to start her
own business, Sandy's Treasures, established in Oct. 1999.
She started applying to area craft shows and acquired quite
a following of customers. Sandy finally got up the nerve to
attend the Indiana certification class taught by Donna
Dewberry in Sept. 2000 and became a One Stroke Certified
Instructor in Oct. 2000.

Upon returning from Indiana, Sandy contacted Michael's Arts
and Craft and became a teacher at the Shelby Twp. location.
She found teaching very gratifying. In March 2001, Sandy
traveled to Atlanta, Georgia to attend the Continuing
Education Seminar for certified instructors to improve her
skills. After she returned from that trip she began teaching at
a second store, JoAnn Fabrics, Fort Gratiot location.

Wanting her business to offer more to customers, Sandy
attended the Wall and Furniture Certification in January
2002, located in Florida and became a Wall and Furniture
Specialist. She now offers wall painting/murals/boarders to
her customers.

In June of 2005, she completed her training in Oregon to
become a Certified Bob Ross Floral Instructor.  She is
currently teaching floral painting using the Bob Ross, wet on
wet technique at Michael's in Chesterfield, Michigan.

Sandy is a full time bookkeeper but would eventually like to
run her business full-time.  She has also studied with other
nationally know artist and is a member of the National Society
of Decorative Painters.
